Some have firm dates; some are still waiting on a final release date, but all of them are the kind of games that make a console year feel special.

The Big PS5 Exclusives Everyone Will Be Watching

Sony’s first-party lineup is usually what gets people talking, and 2027 looks no different. These are the games likely to dominate headlines, group chats, and way too many “top 10” videos.

So, here they are.

#1 Until Dawn 2 — January 28, 2027

Until Dawn 2

Horror fans, start the year scared. Until Dawn 2 is a PS5 exclusive and a direct follow-up to the cult favorite interactive horror game.

This time, you’re following a group of ghost hunters who fake paranormal encounters for content until they run into something that isn’t fake.

It’s set on a remote tropical island, which is already a bad idea in horror terms.

The appeal here is the same as the original: choices matter, characters can die, and you’ll probably second-guess at least one decision.

Peter Stormare is returning as Dr. Hill, which is a nice nod for fans. If you like narrative horror with a bit of camp and a lot of tension, this is an easy day-one candidate.

#2 God of War: Laufey — February 16, 2027

God of War: Laufey

A new God of War chapter is always a big deal, and God of War: Laufey is already one of the most talked-about upcoming PS5 games.

This time, you play as Laufey, the Jötunn warrior and Kratos’ wife, as she fights through the afterlife. It’s a PS5 exclusive from Santa Monica Studio, so expectations are going to be sky-high.

If you’ve been following the Norse saga, this feels like an important piece of the story rather than a side project. The combat and emotional storytelling should be the main draw here.

February is going to be crowded, but this one will likely cut through the noise.

#3 Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet — 2027, Date TBA

Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet

Naughty Dog is finally moving into a brand-new universe with Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet.

Details are still thin, but it’s a sci-fi project and a major PS5 exclusive. Given the studio’s track record with Uncharted and The Last of Us, this one automatically goes on the watchlist.

There’s no firm date yet, so don’t clear your calendar just yet.

Still, if you like cinematic action and strong storytelling, this is probably the biggest wildcard on the list.

#4 Forza Horizon 6 — January 26, 2027

Forza Horizon 6

Yes, Forza Horizon 6 is coming to PS5.

The Horizon Festival is heading to Japan, and the game will feature over 550 real-world cars to collect and race.

It arrives just two days before the release of ‘Until Dawn 2,’ which means PS5 users will face a tough question: “What should I play first?”

If you’ve wanted a big, beautiful racing game on PS5, this is likely to be it. It’s not an exclusive, but it’s still one of the biggest upcoming PS5 games of the year.

#5 Metro 2039 — February 4, 2027

Metro 2039

The Metro series is back with Metro 2039.

This one takes place in a frozen, monster-infested Moscow, and it’s leaning hard into survival and atmosphere.

If you’ve played the previous games, you know what to expect: tense exploration, limited resources, and a world that feels genuinely hostile.

It’s not a cheerful game, but it’s a great pick if you want something immersive and bleak.

Sometimes that’s exactly the vibe.

#6 Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis — February 12, 2027

Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis

Lara Croft returns in Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis. This one is expected to mix classic tomb-raiding exploration with modern action set pieces.

If you grew up with the series or enjoy a good adventure game, it’s worth keeping on your radar.

The title alone suggests we’re getting something tied to Atlantis, which has plenty of potential for puzzles, ruins, and mythical nonsense. That’s not a complaint.

#7 Fable — February 23, 2027

Fable

After all the horror and survival tension, Fable might be the perfect palate cleanser.

The fantasy RPG series is getting a fresh reboot set in Albion, complete with quirky characters, dark humor, and, of course, chickens. It’s scheduled for February 23, 2027.

If you like RPGs that don’t take themselves too seriously, this is one to watch. It’s also a nice counterpoint to the heavier releases around it.

#8 Final Fantasy 7: Revelation — April 8, 2027

Final Fantasy 7: Revelation

The final chapter of the Final Fantasy 7 remake trilogy is set to arrive on April 8, 2027.

Final Fantasy 7: Revelation is expected to wrap up the story with a big, emotional finale.

That means epic boss fights, plenty of spectacle, and the kind of closure fans have been waiting for since the remake project was announced.

If you’ve stuck with the trilogy so far, this is basically required reading. It’s also one of the biggest upcoming PS5 games of the year, even though it’s not an exclusive.

#9 Resident Evil Veronica Remake — 2027, Date TBA

Resident Evil Veronica Remake

Capcom keeps rolling with its Resident Evil remakes, and Resident Evil Veronica, often known as Code: Veronica, is reportedly getting the full treatment.

The rumor mill points to the RE Engine, updated visuals, a third-person perspective, and modern controls.

Nothing is locked in yet, but if it lands in 2027, horror fans will have another reason to be excited. Code: Veronica has a reputation for being one of the stranger, more ambitious entries in the series, so a remake makes a lot of sense.

#10 Alien: Isolation 2 — 2027, Date TBA

Alien: Isolation 2

After years of fans asking for it, Alien: Isolation 2 is finally happening.

Creative Assembly and SEGA are working on a direct sequel, and it’s confirmed for 2027.

The first game was all about the Xenomorph’s AI and the constant feeling that you were being hunted, and the sequel is expected to double down on that.

If you like stealth, sci-fi, and the idea of being terrified by a very smart alien, this is a dream come true.

It’s also one of the most interesting upcoming PS5 games on this list because we still know so little about it.

A Few More Upcoming PS5 Games Worth Bookmarking

The 2027 calendar is packed, so here are a few extras that didn’t make the top 10 but are still worth a bookmark.

Silent Hill Remake is in production with a 2027 window.

It’s supposed to keep the foggy atmosphere and Harry Mason’s story while modernizing the controls and visuals.

Rev. NOiR is a new RPG from Konami, also set for 2027, and details are still scarce.

Kena: Scars of Kosmora continues Kena’s journey as a Spirit Guide and is slated for 2027 as well.

None of these are guaranteed slam dunks yet, but they’re the kind of titles that could easily become surprises.

So, What Should You Play First?

That’s the problem with a year like 2027; there’s no easy answer.

If you want horror, Until Dawn 2 and Alien: Isolation 2 are right there. If you want blockbuster action, God of War: Laufey and Final Fantasy 7: Revelation are going to eat up a lot of time.

And if you want to drive fast cars through Japan, Forza Horizon 6 has you covered.

The smart move is to pick two or three games to follow closely and wait for reviews on the rest. Release dates will shift, and some of these will probably move around.

But based on what we know right now, 2027 is going to be a strong year for upcoming PS5 games.

Which one are you most excited for?

For us, it’s a toss-up between God of War: Laufey and Alien: Isolation 2; one is guaranteed to be emotional, and the other is guaranteed to make us play with the lights on.
